Walkingfloor transport for sand and gravel
Do you transport sand or gravel? DTC operates daily with walkingfloor trailers throughout the Netherlands and across Europe. We are based in Friesland and work for companies that move large volumes of sand and gravel.
A walkingfloor unloads without tipping. The moving floor pushes the load out in a controlled way. This allows us to unload at sites with limited height or sensitive ground conditions, without damage or delays.
We work for raw material producers, construction companies and recyclers that handle large volumes of sand and gravel every day. Since 2009, we have provided bulk transport throughout the Netherlands and far beyond.

How does a walkingfloor trailer unload sand and gravel?
A walkingfloor trailer has hydraulically driven floor slats. These move sand or gravel evenly to the rear. The load remains stable during unloading.
Because the trailer does not tip, we can access locations where a tipper cannot operate. Think of covered installations or surfaces that cannot handle a tipping moment. You can control the unloading speed yourself.
What materials do we transport with a walkingfloor trailer?
Companies in construction and recycling move bulk materials and waste streams every day. We transport, among others:
- Sand: washed sand, masonry sand and fill sand
- Gravel: coarse and fine grades for construction and road foundations
- Granulate: crushed concrete, recycling granulate and broken materials
- Green list waste
- Red list waste
- ADR waste
For wetter loads, we use semi leak walkingfloors with a capacity of up to 650 litres.
We hold waste transport permits for the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, England, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Poland and Austria.

The advantages of walkingfloor transport for sand and gravel
Companies in construction and earthworks focus on loading capacity, safety and on site flexibility. A walkingfloor trailer has a volume of 90 to 100 m³. That means more sand, gravel or other loose bulk materials per trip.
The advantages at a glance:
- unloading at locations where a tipper cannot operate
- high volume per trip for lighter bulk materials
- suitable for return loads
- controlled unloading without tipping risk

Frequently asked questions about sand and gravel transport
Our trailers have a loading volume of 90 to 100 m³. The tonnage depends on the material. Washed sand weighs differently than coarse gravel. We calculate this with you in advance.
A tipper unloads by lifting the body. This requires sufficient height and stable ground. A walkingfloor unloads horizontally using moving floor slats. This makes it suitable for closed warehouses, above installations or on sensitive surfaces where a tipper cannot operate.
